Poverty in South Florida – Save God’s Children



In Broward country, 15% of the entire population lives below the poverty line according to the U.S. census Bureau. Twenty percent of Broward’s children fall into that category.

In Palm Beach County, 15% of the population and 23 percent of the children live in poverty.

In Miami-Dade County, 21 percent of the population and 28% of children live in poverty. These figures use the 2013 estimate. This snapshot is not pleasant to look at but it is required urgent interventions to end it.

For 2015, the federal poverty threshold is $24,036 for a family of four with two childrenChildren living in families with incomes below the federal poverty threshold are referred to as poor.
